Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actress and producer well recognized for her incredibly praised performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Her career in acting started in Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. Acting has always been her interest. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller. Mumps caused her to be blind and deaf in the one ear, but she was determined not to allow that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. While in college, she took classes in theatre and later moved in New York City in pursuit of her dreams. Through a random encounter, she became stuck in an elevator along with playwright Beth Henley and the two were a team in Broadway Crimes of the Heart and became Hunter's debut. As she relocated into Los Angeles, Hunter tried for movie roles. A supporting role was securing for her in Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in several TV shows and films in an extensive career that spans more than a quarter century. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
